Hi all
We are in a desperate situation again as the drought has taken =
hold of us once again.Probably worse than 02 03 at this present time =

Our dairy farm is located in West Gippsland at Pakenham.

The variety of ryegrass used is straight Impact Plus AR-1.

=20

There was no other seed planted with it, it was just straight.

=20

We operate on the three leaf principle, with a varying rotation of the =
farm.

=20

The farm is walked weekly.

=20

The paddocks are non-effluent paddocks.

=20

Our land is naturally low in potash, and has had two tonnes per acre =
of calcium lime spread in the two years previous to sowing.

=20

They have been grazed at various heights to see if this made a =
difference, it didn't.

=20

We have grazed them throughout the year, no difference.

=20

The cows just don't like it. They walk in, walk to the strip fence, =
walk back to the front, walk along the fence line grazing under the =
fence as they go.

They just don't like it. On the way back to the shed they graze along =
the track, and arrive back at the shed hungry.

=20

We have had great success using Impact without the AR-1, and would use =
it again. We were convinced the Plus AR-1 was a natural progression of =
improvement.
