I have used a PALM T5 for a couple of years now and have found it tough
enough for everyday farm use, it has been dropped on to concrete several
times and gets used in the rain!! I have a hard case but don't use it as
palm doesn't fit in pocket if it is in case. In my case ease of use with
wet and cold hands is impetrative if the PDA is going to add value to my
business, therefore large screen and minimal keys is what I look for. Also
for genuine farm use a cheaper PDA means if does end up out of the top
pocket in the milk vat/dam you have only lost $3-400.
I wouldn't bother with the dearer outdoor type as if you can get 3 or 4
years out of it you will want to upgrade. I have found that not all
software links live up to their promises resulting in you not being able to
fully utilise all the features on both PC and Palm software.
