Dr Bob Patton World Renowned Ruminant Nutritionist from the USA has =
consulted to the dairy industry extensively in Mexico, South Korea, =
Japan, Costa Rica, Canada, and throughout the U.S.A. Bob started out his =
dairy industry career as a farmer for 20 years and has now moved into =
the area of ruminant nutrition, with a PhD in Animal Science and most =
recently as a nutrition consultant with Nittany Dairy Nutrition. He is =
also the author of extension bulletins, books, scientific articles and =
computer software on ruminant nutrition. The 2006 South East Dairy =
Innovation Day is privileged to have Dr Patton as a key note speaker on =

Professor Frank Dunshea, a scientist in ruminant nutrition, functional =
foods and biomedicine has recently been focussing much of his attention =
towards improving the nutritional and functional properties of animal =
foods. Professor Dunshea was the recipient of the Inaugural Nutrition =
Society of Australia Research Award (1994), and was also awarded the =
Daniel McAlpine outstanding achievement award for research in =
Biomedicine and Functional Foods. Frank will present on the "Human =
Nutrition Perspective of CLA's" and also "Functional Foods, the Future". =
Frank will give a futuristic presentation on what a dairy cow may be =
bred to produce for the lucrative food market & what this means for the =
future dairy farmer.

A panel of award winning and experienced employers will share their =
expertise on the topic of managing labour, what they do & what works, =
how to best attract and retain staff in a tight labour market & their =

SE Innovation Bus Tour June 7th to June 9th

Young farmers, employees and the young at heart! are all invited to join =
in a trip from Central South Australia to the South East including the =
Dairy Innovation Day, Dairy Industry Dinner and Farm Innovation Tours. =
The Bus leaves Flaxley at 1 pm on June 7th & returns 7 pm on June 9th. =
Pick ups will be made along the way at Tailem Bend & Meningie. The bus =
and farm tours are free & sponsored by DairySA, participants will need =
to organise their own accommodation in Mount Gambier.=20

The Innovation Farm Tours will be held on Friday 9th June starting at 9 =
am from the Lady Nelson Visitor Centre. The tours will visit a number of =
farms in the South East, with a focus on "Growth, Innovation and Seizing =
the Opportunity".=20
