Hi all
Top Fodder, the course that has helped hundreds of farmers reduce feed
costs, boost margins and cut down food wastage, is back in SW Victoria.
Presenter Tom Walsh from Timboon and organiser Mike Weise have selected
Nirranda to host the first Top Fodder program of 2006 for dairy farmers and
fodder producers across the Region. The course, which involves on farm
sessions will be run between milkings (10 -3 pm) on March 2nd, 3rd and 10th
2006.
Previous courses have made a big difference on farms in the region.
Participants have been able to harvest crops at a higher quality, improve
the keeping quality of the silage once it is made and get more of the feed
into the cow and then into the vat. For some the increased income on 400
rolls has been $2300 about $6 each roll, at that rate you'd get over a 1000%
return on the course cost (investment) of $200*.
