Dear VicDairy L readers
Can anyone help this dairy farmer with a request for a documented cleaning
procedure for a rotary dairy?
She writes:
"Having recently built a new rotary dairy on our property, we found our
share milkers had a problem with cleaning procedures.Cow time in and out
was fine, the automatic wash system was fine, but time was not being
allocated to manually scrub, and use the high pressure cleaner, and hoses
on a regular daily, fortnightly, monthly or what ever basis.
Cell count was fine, but bacto and thermo were not being acted upon until
Bonlac issued warnings , and the cow shed at 5mths of age, was covered in
caked on cow shit.
We needed to know what other people were using successfully in the way of
cleaning products, and what routines they had in place, daily, weekly
monthly etc.
Is there any one reading this who can help me? Perhaps another farm
owner, or share milker etc, who actually has a successful routine in place
and has it documented."
Could you please reply to: Juliannestyles@hotmail.com
Many thanks.
