Hello All

This will be my last instalment to this wonderful conversation we have
going. I am off to the feeder/backgrounding school run by the Angus society
in Armidale, NSW. Like most things my husband and I do, we like to make the
most of the information out there. My husband is off to a course in Warragul
next week on the stock market and other investment strategies.
You see, we are on the path for the exit ramp. We milk 160 cows on 330
acres, producing 1,200,000 litres annually on home grown feed. We do all the
work ourselves as we can not justify spending the money to "idiot proof" our
farm. Not that we think the workers out there are idiots, but that is the
way of the world nowadays. This year will be the last season of AI, our own
bulls will be used on the herd from now on, and in time the beef bull will
be used. Our sons are 6 & 8 and own the own reckoning from a young age have
decided not to be dairy farmers. So we have hit the out path, it may take a
couple of years to exit fully, but we will get there, sooner rather than
later.
I wonder if Mr Stewart and his wife would work 15 hour days, 7 days a week,
for a wage of $60,000. If so we might be able to justify the revamping of
the farm and we will employ him and his wife, to do the work.
