Hi everone
My name is Andrew Taylor. I am the TRIP (Teacher Release into Industry
Program) teacher with GippsDairy this year. Firstly a little about myself.
I teach at Dandenong High School, teaching mainly Business Management, with
some Home Economics. I live in Seaford, am married and have a beautiful
little seven month old boy. I travel up to Warragul every day. I have a
strong affiliation with the Dairy Industry including milking regularly on
my mates farm in Trafalgar. I also have regular social contact with a
couple of executives from Bonlac and National Foods. My role with
GippsDairy basically involves developing and implementing strategies to
market and promote dairy industry careers. There are a number of strategies
which we are looking at implementing, however one which you may be able to
assist me with is as follows.
I believe that the best people to tell us how to talk the language of our
target market, essentially young people, is to ask them how. We are
therefore looking at establishing a Youth / Student Advisory Network, who
can advise us on the most effective sorts of strategies to reach their peers.
What I am asking from you wonderful people is some names of young (15-23)
people who have a strong interest in the dairy industry, at all levels, and
who would be interested in making the commitment to be available for
consultation at various times. My aim is to bring this group, of around 8
to 10 people, together one day during the second week of the coming April
school holidays, for a day to begin the process. I would anticipate that we
would spend part of the day learing about basic marketing principles, and
then spend the rest of the day brainstorming, and then analysing a variety
of potential marketing strategies. It is likely that we hold this gathering
at McMillan College - Warragul Campus.

with their contact details as soon as possible.
