The issue of whether or not past performance is a good indicator of future
loss is an interesting one. It is for this very reason that will almost
certainly be a tribunal or the like set up to hear and perhaps arbitrate on
issues such as this and any other disputes that may arise from the
distribution of the transition package that the industry is hopeful of
securing.
There are all sorts of questions to be resolved and as we get closer to
achieving something that will be of real benefit to Victorian dairyfarmers
a great deal of effort is now being put into finding answers to these
questions by industry leaders.
Peter Gault's question re taxation is one of these.
Already the UDV, at their most recent Central Council meeting, held
workshops to help work through all these issues which were
facilitated by John McQueen. So if you have ideas as to how a particular
issue may be handled, pass your thoughts onto John McQueen at the ADFF
