Deregulation

Hello to all,

Franks figures are not necessarily " in the bag yet" , however the UDV is
working hard to see if something of this order can be achieved. The
importance of a " transition package " is to ensure that Dairyfarmers are
not disadvantaged by any reduction in the price that we receive for our
milk while the Co-Ops go about the business of organising and positioning
themselves so as to capture the advantages that they see deregulation
bringing to Victorian dairyfarmers.
At dereg meetings around the state we are hearing from our Co-Ops that
they expect to be able to quickly benefit from a deregulated Australian
Dairy Industry. If this is so, then there will be no , or very little,
glitch in prices. It is also worthwhile being aware that variations in
farming such as poor seasons, floods, high grain or hay prices etc etc can
have a far greater impact on your bottom line than any temporary setback
that dereg may cause.
With regards as to what to do with the money!!! Obviously the options
are endless. However be aware that this payment is calculated to give
you, he Dairy Farmer, the benefit "up front" of the equivalent of another
three years of the so called benefits of regulation i.e DMS support and
Market Milk premium.
SO BE SURE TO GET GOOD ADVICE THAT WILL SEE YOU PLACE YOURSELF IN THE BEST
POSITION TO HELP secure THE GOALS THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE IN BOTH
YOUR PRIVATE AND BUSINESS LIFE.
As a Victorian Dairyfarmer, there will never be another opportunity like
this.
At your UDV branch meetings this month your UDV Central Councillor will be
making a detailed presentation on dereg. Check with your local UDV
President or Secretary.
