Here's wishing you a happy holiday, short as it will be.
The way I see it we should be planning what sort of things need done on farm
to reduce costs, improve productivity, get all the fences fixed, the water
supply up to requirements, etc. Farmers will need to get the most that they
can out of whatever compensation package is offered. I have seen much
discussion about how wonderful it will be for Victorian dairy farmers after
deregulation, but I doubt it.
Will the compensation package being offered be big enough? It might be
smoother sailing if we all did the Sydney to Hobart.
