As a Sharefarmer myself and the UDV Gippsland
Rep on Sharefarming, I am receiving an increasing number of calls about how
Deregulation in general will impact on the viability of some farming

who are not on terrific terms with the farm owners are going to go about
receiving their entitlement if the compensation package goes
through.

As it is proposed, the compensation will go to
the dairy license holder who is never the Sharefarmer, so there are a lot of

Hi Everyone,

This $75,000 sounds good but what is the tax situation for this
payment, and where is the milk price going to go for the next few years?

Income Equalization Scheme may be the best way for me to actually
hold on to the payment and guarantee an income that will cover costs until
the Nth Americans and the Europeans reduce their subsidies,(if they do).
Debt reduction may be an option too.

In reply to Kate's post, I feel I need good business skills, a
crystal ball to forsee the future prices, the ability to produce very low
cost milk, guaranteed water delivery and very accurate milk price
forecasting. The major support to me would be holding the rest of the world
to their GATT agreements.

regards, Peter.
