Hei Matze

I presume that you're using Mac OS 9.0.x? - Then the obvious problem might be
that the 'Temporary Items folder has files that slows the system. It is normal
and unfortunately rather wellknown in OS 9.0.x.

Try to use either File Buddy or a simular program to move the Temp folder to
the trash and then restart and empty the trash. The temp folder is an
invisible folder taht storeseverything you do on your Mac. It is recommendable
also to delete both the dekstop DB and DF files before rebuilding the desktop.
- You can do this also with FB.

Also then get AutoPurge and put an alias of it into your Startup Items folder.
AP will now empty the trash every time you start your computer. Link:
