System slow down

Hi Nisoids,

today something very strange is going on with NW 6.0.1. (PB G3 233 Mhz, 192
MB RAM 10GB) It seems as if something does slow it's speed sometimes. While
in one moment everything is just fine, the other moment NW needs ages until
a selection is shown on the screen or until a just written long word
appears completley, sometimes I click on the File Menu and it takes one
second that the File Menu appears. This although I have given NW 18 MB
(minimum) RAM and 27 RAM.

I rebuild desktop, zapped PRAM with Tech Tool, no change.
What is going on here?
