Hi all, I was trying to create a stick-on CD label in NW when I came across an oddity. I realise NW isn't a graphical app but I only wanted something simple, so why not? Anyway, the idea was just a black or coloured circle (no filling), on top of that on one side a 40 percent grey rectangle and on top of that a small red dot followed by the name. Sounds stupid perhaps, but in my eyes it doesn't look bad at all and NW is actually pretty useful here because I can set the margins to zero and with the left ruler on it's quite easy to position the whole thing to make it fit nicely in the sheets tear-out. I know I can type the text (too bad it won't rotate <g>) on the text layer, but I tried some on the graphics one. After all, there is a text tool there... Here's the colour weirdness: if I start typing on the graphics layer before anything else it all goes well and the text turns out black. However, if I type after first making a light grey rectangle the text tuns out grey also and I can't change it back to black or anything else. All the colour-boxes in the tools palette just beep. Nothing serious, but still. Is it NW, am I doing something wrong or am I missing something? Have fun, Hermie hdha at chello dot nl
