Sounds like a bad Desktop problem. Try re-building your desktop. It seems that the more recent systems are much more sensitive to the interity of the desktop. It could also be that using Real Basic, we are relying on rather high-level calls to find the file. These higher level calls may be more sensitive to the accuracy of the desktop file.
