Re: What is this list for?

Bing bing bing, Bob has it right. When I assumed ownership of this
list in the late 80s or early 90s (you could look it up in
Engst's Internet book), Nisus was the name of the program. I
revised the sign up info later when the name of the pgram changed
to NisusWriter. I won't be modifying it again. You have unfortunately
caught me in a very grumpy mood.

I don't buy the argument that just because Nisus Software creates
an app it should be discussed on this list. I also don't buy the
argument that Nisus users should be allowed to talk about everything
and anything on this list that they want to just because they are
a community. This list is for the discussion of NisusWriter.

My apologies to all of the long-suffering list members who have put up
with this while I let it run amok. My extreme apologies to all
of the list members who gave up on me and left. I kept thinking
that I could set up a list explicitly for you guys, but it really
is just beyond my time right now. So the simplest solution for me
is to steer this list back to where it is supposed to be. If you
are one of the members that want a different kind of list--one
about Nisus Email or relflections of the Nisus community members--
please feel free to create one. You have my sympathies in advance.

I have two options. I can either moderate the list and reject all
postings that are off topic (that is, not about Nisus, the older
version of NisusWriter, or NisusWriter). Or you guys can moderate
yourselves.

I am not accepting discussion about this. I have already made
up my mind.
