I didn't mean to imply that it was superfluous, and sorry if I did.
The only thing I meant to say (largely to myself, I suppose) was that
"of type" was optional, which I didn't know before I tried omitting it.

It sounds like a FAQ question, now that I think about it. I'll try
checking out the website, thanks - I have it bookmarked, I think.
